Fast forward to the 1950s, Dr. Michael Bunocore made a leap for restorative dentistry. He created a process known as etching, which is where the surface of a tooth is roughened to open the natural pores. This allowed the bonding material used in dental prosthetics to form a stronger hold, meaning they lasted much longer. This idea was then used for veneers in 1982, so they had a better lifespan than before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
