If you’re tired of walking around with a gaping hole in your mouth, let the dental professionals at Ambiance Dental Spa offer a safe and effective solution – dental implants! When a missing tooth is keeping you from enjoying social situations or smiling for the camera, it can be detrimental to your overall self-esteem. We want to restore that confidence level, as well as your visual appearance, and with the help of dental implants, you can once again look and feel your very best. To find out how you can get started, contact our office to schedule an appointment.
Single Tooth Replacement Options
You have two choices when deciding how you want to replace your missing tooth: a fixed bridge or a single tooth implant.
Using your natural teeth as anchors for the prosthetic, your dentist will prepare these teeth by filing them down. This will allow the dental crowns to fit properly over your teeth. Your prosthetic will consist of three dental crowns, two of which will serve as “caps” over your regular teeth and one that will sit on top of the gum, filling the gap.
Single Tooth Implant
A single tooth implant is surgically placed into your jawbone. Made of titanium, the implant acts like a tooth’s root, stimulating the bone and offering stability to the customized restoration that sits on top. There is no need to alter nearby teeth because your dentist will only need to address the vacated socket.
Your dentist will make a small incision in the gum line and drill a hole into your jawbone. Carefully positioning the implant, they will stitch up the area and send you home to spend the next several months healing. The implant must fuse to the bone in a process known as osseointegration, which must occur during this time in order for the process to be successful.
When you return to our office, we will place an abutment, which connects the implant to the restoration, and then we will place your custom dental crown. The prosthetic will be matched to your natural tooth color, size, and shape, giving you a beautifully blended smile.
